Fourteen students were up for the challenge of the WKU’s December Dan Grading at theBristol Karate Club Dojo on Sunday 07 December.

Our Chief Instructor Alan Flook put them through their paces working them hard on technical ability and on stamina.

Eleven students made the grade eventually, the other three have a little more work to do but have all shown they deserved to be there and hopefully will be back after the summer course.

Successful candidates to Shodan were:-
Alex Golden-Colchester
James Lenaghan-Oldmixon & Uphill
Henry Guy and Chloe Summers-Yokai Karate
Andrew Rowe-The Griffin
Nichola Noble and Laura Bush-Sudbury
Elizabeth Haines, Ben Smart, Bhavana Tallam, Isobel Holloway-Clevedon/Virgin Active.

At the end of the grading two well deserved promotions were awarded, Penny Delmon to Nidan and Vaughan Whybrow to Sandan.

Thank you to supporters, parents, friends and relatives who travelled to the dojo to encourage them.
