I would like to say a very big ‘Thank You’ to those who attended our WKU kata course at the Bristol Dojo today. 16 students of varying grades from three of our West Country clubs. Also I would like to thank guest instructors from Sentenashi, Mike O’Brien – 7th Dan, and Olivia Newton – 3rd Dan.

The two kata that we concentrated on were Seienchin and Saifa and I was very impressed with the way that many of the students took to these kata with some outstanding prospects for the future of our kata squad also many of our “older” members who will be a great asset when we take these kata back to our clubs.

Once again many thanks to Broadwell, Bristol and Clevedon for their support. We are arranging to follow this course up with an extra one hour session before a couple of our pre-Dan grading sessions.

The pre-Dan grade sessions will start on Sunday October 23rd from 17.00 – 18.00 at the Bristol Dojo, these courses are free and aimed at those either taking a Dan grade or those working towards their Dan grade. Again, others are welcome to attend to keep themselves fit and up to date on what is required at a Dan grading.
